Extract of sample "Ph.D. Program in Statistics at the University of Houston"

I finished my undergraduate studies in 2006 with a bachelor's in mathematics having completed my studies. My desire is to be awarded a Ph.D. in statistics because it will offer me a great chance to expand my academics in some meaningful areas of my interest. Statistics is an applied science and can be applied in many areas, unlike many other academic disciplines. Technology is changing day by day and computers are used the more. A lot of data is created which needs to be analyzed hence new methods are required to be invented for handling this information.

I believe the Ph.D. program in statistics will best suit this area of my interest. Ph.D. in statistics will enable me to apply the standard algorithms from some of the software packages to the data using elements like the SAS and package up results. I desire a Ph.D. in statistics because am also interested in solving problems and doing original work. It will be my pleasure to be enrolled in your program and believe it fits my career ambitions significantly. I have provided all materials required for my acceptance for the master’s program.

I appreciate this humble opportunity to submit my application for consideration. Please you can contact me if at all there is something else required so I can provide it. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
