Extract of sample "The Specialization and Concentration of Civil Engineering"

In that sense, civil engineering is divided into various concentrations according to each area of specialization. The concentration areas for civil engineers may include any of the following: Geotechnical Engineering; Structural Engineering; Construction Management Engineering; Environmental/Water Resources Engineering; Transportation Engineering; and Urban Systems Engineering and Management among other disciplines (NYU Poly, 2). Geotechnical engineering deals with the study of the rock and soil that support civil structures, while environmental engineering deals with the gathering and supervision of water services. Additionally, structural, construction management, and urban engineering deal with structural design for civil structures, planning, and execution of design, and municipal infrastructure respectively.

Civil engineering jobs are readily available depending on the area of specialization and concentration of the civil engineer. For instance, the industries for structural, water resources/environmental, and transportation engineering are doing-especially well as many large companies are hiring individuals. In opposition, the geotechnical engineering industry is slightly below average as only a few companies are hiring professionals. However, the civil engineering industry is doing well, and there are several jobs for graduates in several construction projects within the country and abroad.

An ACRONYM is a pronounceable word, which is created from the initial letter or letters of the constituent words (Economic Expert, 1). A perfect example of such a word is the UNICEF, which stands for the United Nations Children’s Fund. Similarly, the expected ACRONYM for my completed degree will be SE (Structural Engineer). The following table gives a list of the key requirements for entry-level civil engineering jobs with a comparison against my qualifications.
