Has globalization affected the global/national/local natural environment? ID Lecturer Globalization has brought finesse to the world’s business operations and realms for quite a while now. This has happened due to a number of reasons – most of which have benefited the business environment in essence. The manner in which globalization has made headlines of late has turned the critics in favor of this new phenomenon, a discourse which has eventually shaped up the new world order in more ways than one. To start with, globalization has touched upon issues which were considered indiscernible in the recent past, and thus proper manifestation has been laid on the fact that globalization comprises of all such activities and undertakings which usually determine the benefits that will come about for the sake of the different stakeholders – the employees working within the organizational realms, the shareholders who have invested heavily within the relevant domains and finally the customers, without whom nothing could really be achieved within the business tenets. A natural environment needs to inculcate feelings of free trade so that productivity could be achieved within the different stakeholders related with the organizational realms. It is important that a global phenomenon is employed which has a local flavor to it. Hence an overall feel of local cum global messaging will benefit the organizational entities more than anything else. Therefore it would be proper to state that globalization is indeed a very metaphorical reality in the time and age of today, and will create a positive yet enduring force within the coming times as well. It is a fact that globalization has touched the finer aspects related with the global and local environments of business and the business organizations of recent times have found these tangents much to their help. What this means is the reality that has dawned upon these organizations in the wake of profits which have exceeded their expectations. These organizations have usually been at a benefit as far as understanding the dictum of global harmony within business operations is concerned. However what seems as a missing link within the whole scenario is the ideology that local level environments cannot be duplicated across the board in different countries of the world (Hersh 2000). This needs to be aligned in such a way that the benefits are there for the taking as far as the parent organization (based at the headquarters) is concerned. The local environments should therefore be set in such a manner that the people could relate to the requirements as sought by the organization within the local atmosphere of the country or region for that matter. There is a great amount of emphasis laid on the fact that organizations will chalk up strategies which will take care of the locals because it is the first right of these locals to get the jobs that are made available by these organizations as well as to benefit the local population in a wholly intensive way. The relation with the local publics is of essence as it will bring the much needed harmony within the region as well as the political and regional stability that any organization could wish for. The natural environment has got affected in a number of different ways due to globalization. This is because the natural environment is one of a free flowing one in nature and usually does not appreciate wholesale changes and amendments by the people, who are indeed the tools to bring about these changes within the environment in the first place. The natural environment is indeed a manifestation of the way the business operations have been functioning for decades now. Any novelty that arises now is dependent on the way the same brings a significant change within the lives of the people, who are indeed the very stakeholders within the related equation. Now what this implicates is the fact that man is the sole responsibility within this world to bring about a serious change – a change which will decide the course of action for the other living beings on the planet. If the industries are set up in a blatant manner, it would mean that the ecosystem of the planet is being compromised upon and this would essentially hamper the smooth functioning regimes of the world (Taylor 2002). There could be other alternatives which man needs to explore in order to have serious changes within the world’s different norms and procedures. However what is most important now is the fact that the natural environment is preserved as much as possible so that the generations that come after the present ones see a clean environment, much to their happiness and liking. Once again, this is easier said than done. Globalization has instilled a new sense of confidence within the business fraternity. The stakeholders have understood the notion that if they invest with a wise approach, they can make serious profits. This is indeed a very serious business that one is talking about here. However a clear methodical approach is what is needed when one decides to go on an all-out mechanism of going the global way. This will play a hugely significant role within the understanding reached amongst the stakeholders that they are essentially doing it right, not only for their own sake but also for the rest of the beings on the planet. However there could be serious issues where conflict of interest could arise every now and then, and which need to be addressed in an adequate capacity so that success could be attained within these ranks. Globalization has changed the way the businesses were carried out in the past. Now there are more options, all of which are geared to bring in better and more advanced solutions to the people for whom the globalization realms are coined in the first place. There is a dire need to comprehend how globalization could bring in the much needed value for the sake of its proponents and supporters, because these people will fight its case come what may (in the future). The critics need to be told the positives related with globalization so that they could change their thinking patterns and contribute toward such a successful phenomenon that mankind knows by the name of globalization. Moving further ahead with the understanding of globalization within the different environments of business, one must comprehend the fact that globalization has achieved quite a significant status in the modern times. This has happened because globalization is now being seen as the most potent force when it comes to linking different business regimes in essence. It also means that these business regimes will bring in the much needed value and the output threshold for the respective companies because these aspects are indeed very important in the time and age of today. The globalization angle has provided for a free flowing approach towards settings things on a liberal footing, because this will bring fresh concepts to the table as well as derive new ideas and innovations which will spur the locals to give their very best in the times to come. Their respective business operations would indeed improve and hence they would be able to compete on a global scale which is every business’ dream in the long run. This will eventually increase the share of their profits as well as give them the much needed mileage that they deserve within the related settings (Pieterse 2004). There is a complete change within the mindset of the top management domains ever since globalization has made its mark in a serious manner towards the operational and strategic ranks of the business realms. The results would be impressive if the global players understand their local level responsibilities and allocate significant amounts of their budgets for the sake of looking after the needs and requirements of the locals, which indeed is an imperative aspect in entirety. The stakeholders have understood that globalization would not be a success if the different business offices are not allocated the resources that they require for their proper business operations. If these resources are made available, the working dynamics would start changing in a very quick way, thus bringing in profits left, right and center. However the missing link could be highlighted in the form of the non-availability of resources which would be playing a fundamentally significant role within the business realms, thus hampering the smooth working basis that any organization would dearly want to have. It is important that the stakeholders remain firm as far as making available the proper infrastructure is concerned, because sometimes the businesses become stagnant and they do not know what will be the best step forward. In moments like these, stakeholders could build positive pressure so that the businesses get motivated again and thus rise up to the challenge. This is important as at times it has been seen that the business realms lose track of what they are really trying to achieve and where they have gone wrong, in terms of the most basic understanding which is very quintessential in the time and age of today when competition drives just about everything (Guillen 2001). The political environment of the countries where globalization within business has been able to make a solid mark is the one that needs to be understood in a proper vein so that much success could be bestowed upon the nations, all of whom have done their respective bit to come out in a clear way to bring about a much needed change, one that is seen as positive right from the outset. It must be understood here that globalization will bring about a newer energy within the people who now seem to discern the positives that are tied along with the phenomenon of globalization in the first place. Hence it is immensely significant to know that globalization will become a part of their respective lives and essentially aim to bring about serious changes as per their usual working domains and routines. Therefore it would be in the best interest of these locals to determine as to how globalization could be seen as a major force that will bring about a solid change and how this change will be consistently available so that the positives could be drawn upon time and time again. The need is to remain apprehensive about the way these changes will be represented within the lives of the locals and the manner these changes will be manifested in the wake of troubled times within a nation. It must be ensured that the political pressures and civil unrest within the country would not ask the multinational organizations to run away from these nations, where they have already committed to building the nation’s business domains over a period of time. The promise needs to be of a localized nature so that people could relate with the same and there should not be any apprehensions about the same whatsoever. Hence there is a dire need to set the house in order as far as the political agents within any nation are concerned. Their roles come about in a very direct and open manner as far as the discussion of globalization is concerned. Free trade is given significance by the different proponents of globalization because they believe it will instill a renewed sense of confidence and up the esteem of the workers in a wholesome fashion. Hence the business regimes within the present times are working hand in hand to boost the failing standards of the free trade movements, spread across the lengths and breadths of different nations of the world. Globalization would receive a serious uplift if free trade regimes are given the go-ahead signal in a very open way, which will essentially bring growth, development and prosperity to different undertakings of a country’s quarters. The failing standards will also outline the ways under which success would be seen as a necessity – an aspect that will reign in more profits than the company envisaged in the past. Thus globalization has come about as a serious force that could receive a huge number of favors once the said regimes are implemented in a wholesome way (Goodhart 2001). There is a dire need to understand where the failing standards could be addressed and in what capacity so that the shortcomings could be turned into areas of strength and the eventual zones of opportunity in the times to come. It would be a huge boost for the economic conditions of those nations that have already been hit badly by the sanctions put upon them by the international bodies, treaties and organizations worldwide. The national environment of any country gives a good measure as to whether globalization would be seen as a positive or otherwise. The latter could mean that even the most potent organizations of the developed countries would not be able to make it through if the norms and procedures within the developing country under question are deemed as futile and unhelpful. If a country is engulfed with domestic pressures that ask of its business industry to keep away from the multinational players, then it would be apt to state that such a country needs to change its very stance towards these organizations. Success can only come in when it is desired, and if these countries do not enjoy the company of these multinational organizations in totality, then it is a given that the environment within these nations is deemed as unhelpful and less desired, from the business standpoint. It would be adequately sound to state that such nations need to change their perspectives so that business regimes could enter within their boundaries and thus bring in the profits that they so richly deserve. Without being receptive to such business linkages, it would be almost impossible to make it big within the business realms of any country. Thus the trade linkages would build solid platform for growth and development, as well as inculcate feelings of oneness within the different nations of the world. Their business operations and trade linkages would be dealt with, whilst keeping in perspective the long term developmental plans for each other as well as for the entire region where the business has set its feet. The business environment of a country would indeed bring in profits which have been seen as an unexpected undertaking on their part. There is a need to comprehend the fact that profits are deemed as impossible when the business is conservative and when free trade is not given the room to maneuver its very basis. This is a wrong precedent set by some top organizations within their national boundaries. The reason as to why these organizations could not make it successfully overseas lies in the fact that they lacked the foresightedness and the positive attitude which would have made them unconquerable on a global level (Mittelman 2002). Hence in order for the local giants to make it well within the global dynamics of business, it is important to realize as to how success would be measured and what instruments are going to be used in order to have success kissing the feet of these organizations in the end. The role of the government under such business environments such be one of a facilitating nature. This is because the helpful disposition on the part of the government will bring in linkages across the board as well as assist in calling the major business giants within the country, and indeed the profits will pour in, in big numbers. The infrastructural developments will start taking place and the economic boost would come about in a quick manner, thus making the weaknesses look bleak and short term. This is indeed a huge benefit for any nation that has its governmental institutions lined up in a positive and pragmatic way. In the end, it would be appropriate to say that globalization is for all. It does not know any barriers or boundaries. The countries which can most benefit from globalization are indeed the third world nations, which need sound developmental plans for their growth basis. Thus there is a need to understand how the underdeveloped countries can do their best to come out on the top, time and again. The national environment, assisted by the government in place must play its positive role to enact sound policies and mechanisms which will ultimately change the course of play as far as these organizations are concerned. The multinational organizations must be given the green signal so that success could reign in, in a good enough way. All said and done, globalization will stay for quite a while in the future. The only need is to facilitate it with the resources that it so dearly requires. Bibliography Goodhart, Michael. (2001). Democracy, Globalization, and the Problem of the State.
