Hitler’s table talk Adolf Hitler is a famous individual in the history of Germans. He is famous for his dictatorship and intriguing speeches. Many authors have written about him but there are two books he authored to tell the world his story in his own way. These books include My Struggle and Hitler’s table talk. Hitler’s table talk gives a recording of his thoughts in the morning, midday, and night when he was on the table. These are his private conversations that involved different guests. He touched on different topics that he had experienced in his life and expressed his views on governments, lifestyle, and religion. Hitler praised the German army on the night of July 24. In his opinion, it was perfect in the world. He believed that the German soldier was safer and sounder than any other soldier was and was truly happy that he had lived to witness its victory. He even wished he were younger so that he could be in the front line of the army in war. Hitler had always loved being a German, he had wanted to prove to the rest of the world that Germany was superior and this explains why in world war two he volunteered to support the German army. During that time when he served as a soldier, he was faithful and devoted and he admits that he loved soldiering. In his subsequent conversations, he illustrates how the army conquered territories and elaborates how it never accepted defeat. In August 1941, when someone had committed murder in Berlin, Hitler argued that offenders did not need an imprisonment but rather corporal punishment. He argued that the penal system of the time had given the first sentence unnecessary importance. These people deserved corporal punishment only. Sending one to jail would only give them an opportunity to perfect their art of breaking the law. He argued that in prisons other prisoners teach people new tactics. This is the sad truth in most of the prisoners in the world today. However, corporal punishment is not supported in the human rights law code and therefore inapplicable. It is worth noting other prisoners do honestly transform. He concludes that the criminal should just disappear so that they do not face trial. If all criminals disappear into society, crime would rise terribly. It is worthwhile to lock them up in prison but implement strategies that will ensure they transform. On August 19, Hitler mentioned that for the good of their country, the Germans should wish for war after every fifteen to twenty years. These wars would make sure that their army was preoccupied and not just playing with the soldiers. He further elaborates that he did not regret losing some of the soldiers in war because war creates an opportunity for Germany to enlarge their territory and therefore increase in number. This principle does not comply with the international law. The world is busy seeking peace. Hitler on the contrary was enthusiastic about wars when wars scared everybody. He knew that by waging war, he would win more territories to colonize. Hitler was a lover of war; he found his delight in the battlefield. This dominated his world and thoughts. He always wanted to conquer others and gain control. In addition, he talked about people and God. He believes that life comes from God and he bestows intelligence on people. Hitler argues that as long as he regulates his life according to the understanding bestowed upon him, he acts in good faith even if he makes mistakes. He believes that in every individual is the feeling that there is a supernatural being. The problem is that religious leaders exploit this feeling and instill fear in people. Hitler however strongly condemns Christianity and its practices. In some of his conversations, he refers to Christianity as a menace in society. It is true that there is a supernatural being and that life originates with him. He has his reasons for opposing Christianity though. He argued that Christians did not practice what they were preaching especially the Christian teaching on love. He accused Christians of being the last people who obeyed that law. However, at his early age as he illustrates, he was religious but times changed his views. He did not like the influence religious leaders had on the people. In another conversation, he mentioned that religious leaders instilled fear into people of suffering in the next world. In other conversations, he mentioned National Socialism, the system that he practiced in his rule in Germany. In this system, he exercised dictatorship whose main aim was to gain economic control f territories. He wanted to gain power nationally all he claimed that he did all these for the benefit of Germans. Many people in the world have condemned this racist system. He encouraged discrimination of some races and this was not fair at all. He elaborated on hoe he would use labor from other from the Russians and other territories to achieve the economic control he badly desired. He elaborated of how he planned to conquer more territories for economic benefit. He did no what to settle for just a political leader, he wanted his leadership to be felt by the entire Europe. Hitler had so many quests for power and exercise of control. This is evident from his days in school because he was the stubborn student and always wanted to give instruction. In addition, Hitler dreamt of a country that offered equal opportunities to all people. He argued that education for all was necessary and that a nation had the obligation to ensure that all young people accessed education. Without education, an individual would miss so many opportunities in life. The elite lead society. Considering he did not complete his secondary education and that this closed opportunities for him, he had a reason to encourage states to take responsibility of the education of all talented adolescents. Education would ensure that they did not miss opportunities in life. Hitler also addresses the quality of optimism in his life. He explains that human beings should never lose optimism, as this is the key to succeed in anything. He argues that he only made it in life because he never allowed himself to lose the faith. According to him, a pessimistic person has denied himself the existence. He emphasizes this value in all his conversations as he has faith that everything he desired would come true. This spirit formed a recipe for his success to take control of the Germans. He argues that all young people should acquire this spirit for them to achieve their dreams. It is true that if anyone is optimistic and does not let faith die they can achieve anything. Pessimism confuses life and limits our potential. Hitler held these conversations with different people. Most of his ideas are so out of this world and this explains his actions. He had a realm of ideologies that governed his world. He was a good orator and he used this skill to influence people to support him. His experiences in the world war one opened him to the world of using war to gain control of territories. He criticized the tactics used by other nations. He hated the systems existing in other countries. He sought to prove to other nations that Germany was the best in everything. He planted the spirit of racism in Germans, a vice that is rampant up to date. The entire world is opposed to his ideologies. He lacked humanity and his exercise of power was forceful. His system of rule forms the dark history of Germans. He brought about the collapse of the national economy in the end. However, some of Hitler’s ideas are worth emulating. Each individual needs to be optimistic for him or her to achieve anything in life. In addition, the issue he raised concerning a state taking responsibility of the education of young people is a worthwhile cause for any nation that is seeking to advance. Despite all the criticism, all these conversations described the opinion he held about different aspects in life. Just like any other individual, he was entitled to an opinion. These ideologies dictated his actions. They may sound absurd, but they defined Adolf Hitler. Read More
