Computer Science Literature Review Pervasiveness of technology Pervasive computing is the technological trend designed to use microprocessors called chips that is embedded on human body to improve general communication of information to these devices (Covington, 26). An advancement of computer techniques goes past the sphere of personal computer. This rapid change comes as a result technological advancement that changes the day-to-day technological devices from less to a more powerful device of smaller sizes than the personal computer. This change has recorded progressive production of natural products that posse’s hardware and soft ware materials. It is an idea that is technically designed to change the lifestyle of human kind from any kind of material that human being use. These may include human body, clothing’s, cars, appliances, tools and various things that human use on day-to-day activities. This technology is designed to connect human beings to these devices by imbedding a smaller device called chip to the human body so that it can connect these devices to an unlimited network of other different devices (Covington, 37). This technology is aimed at ensuring that there is constant connection between the invented devices and the environment in which they operate. This to some extent will improve general security of human beings through voice recognition, artificial intelligence and unlimited network capability that can be accessed everywhere. Technological dependence Technological dependence is the progressive influence that technology has brought to human lifestyle making them not to become self-sufficient and dependable. This self-insufficiency is witnessed in a situation where a countries major source of economy is not located in the same country or when a country is scheduled to import good from one specific country. Then there is high chance of technological dependence existing (Covington, 39). Besides the technological dependency is more portrayed in communication sector where people have been used and attached to mobile phones. General lifestyle is seriously affected by the way people communicate with each other in the modern day. Communication is always considered to be an important way in which different relation are cemented. However, this has now become the opposite of expectation, as communication has resulted to strained relations among relatives, some of which has been destroyed. Today, technological dependence has changed completely the life style of many people form mobile use addiction to social network addiction among others. The technology has greatly affected social lives of human beings and the existing social skills that people had is now diminishing. Globalization Globalization is the process by which economies are integrated around the world through global network of trade’s activities. Initially, globalization was majorly based on economic side through trade activities and foreign investments; lately the economy has grown now accommodating a broader range of areas and economic activities such as technology, socio-cultural, political, and cultural factors. The global trade has further experienced continuous growth after World War 1 which this economized many nations and states. Besides, the international trade experienced an improvement in growth during the time. However, the global trade was above the economic growth during the period (Reilly, Ralston and Hemmendinger, 46). Globalization has therefore resulted to increased growth of nations and improved links between these countries. The cost of communication has substantially gone down making it easier for people to make contacts over the web and by use of telephones enhancing IT outsourcing. Lastly, the global trade has eased transportation of people and good across the world due to increased number of flights. This has lead to establishment of stronger economy and links between the nations. Issues related to ethics Technology euphoria Euphoria technologies are products that improve energy arrangement and flow within the quantum technicalities upon which they are based (Reilly, Ralston and Hemmendinger, 52). The technique has been used widely to possibly find the ways in which the proton and electron can be arranged. This technology was invented by IPC and from then it has been used successfully in products of different companies. Some companies have used this technique in health sectors to treat patients. This kind of practice to health issues is ethical and highly recommended. The technology has been outstanding and mostly supported, as it is the first technology that has been used for the wellness of humankind. There are several products made by use of this technology these include, CD players, musical instruments, cars, rooms among others. Despite the benefits people reap from these new inventions from technology, some of its technological innovations still question the preparedness of these societies to these new inventions. The euphoria technology has been used extensively in many companies, these include, music industry, movies industries and in light bulbs manufacturing company. Freedom of expression online This is the right of an individual to express his ideas freely without any restriction on internet social sites. Therefore, freedom of expression is very essential in building democratic culture among the people (Reilly, Ralston and Hemmendinger, 54). However every communicative device used in today world require us to think deeply on limits of our rights. This shows that our freedom of expression might be altered if situations forces. Despite these changes, there are always laws that protect every individual’s right to freedom of speech. The ability of individuals to communicate freely has played important role in ensuring that the political accountability is strengthened. Besides the freedom of online expression have resulted to expansion of multimedia in which different people can seek and impart information. It also enable people to come together and discuss issues affecting them openly on internet social sits like face book, without any fear. Lastly, blogging and social media has ensured that people receive faster information than any other form from different backgrounds since today almost every individual is connected (Reilly, Ralston and Hemmendinger, 63). Digital citizenship Digital citizenship is a perception that is very useful to leaders, teachers and parents to know and understand what students, techniques should know in consideration to technology. Digital citizen therefore means the culture of a suitable and responsible technology use (Brookshear, 27). This is shown often by how adults and students misuse technology in various ways. The digital citizenship has become a current issue on e very corner of the world. It helps us understand how we should act when we are online n things that should be taught to the younger generation. Digital citizenship addresses the following nine themes in relation to digital citizenship. First being digital access, here, the society should be aware that everyone has the same opportunity as other when it comes to technology (Brookshear 33). The second is digital commerce, the technology users should understand that market economy is nowadays done electronically, under digital communication. Individuals should understand that every person has the ability to communicate with others within the digital revolution, besides the schools effort to cover some techniques are still needed under digital literacy. Digital etiquette is an area that poses a challenge to the technology users when dealing with digital citizens because they portray poor behaviors when using technology devices. Digital law also helps in dealing with ethical issues of technology within a society, these issues arises from thefts. Therefore, society must be made aware of these unethical issues like those. There is also need for countries to ensure digital rights and responsibilities are extended to every digital citizen (Brookshear, 43). This is because digital citizen have rights to privacy freedom of speech among others In terms of digital health and wellness safety of the eyes and sound ergonomic practices are some of the issues that need to be tackled in the new technological world. Therefore there is need to teach the public the dangers of the technology (Brookshear, 49). Lastly there is need for digital security, because in the society leaves other individuals that are not trustable. Therefore, the society is required to be vigilant when it comes to security issues Works cited Brookshear, J. Glenn. Computer Science. Reading, Mass.: Addison-Wesley, 2000. Print.
