As stated by various analysts, in the post-Cold War era, a considerable difference lays in the power enjoyed by the global players which radically influences the political, social and technological systems of the world. It is also said to continue until a “borderless and seamless” market is created which will allow the MNCs to play a significant role . It is of no doubt that globalisation offers manifold opportunities to the MNCs and International Non-Governmental Organisations (INGOs) to serve the international market.

This in turn influences the prosperity of different economies in terms of world politics and modernisation. However, globalisation also creates an inverse effect on the international platform. To be precise, the globalisation process has an unavoidable impact on the international culture and prosperity. According to analysts, MNCs have been specified to play a crucial role as a non-state actor in influencing the impact of globalisation, especially in the post-Cold War era. After the Cold War, a significant rise in the power of MNCs on the world politics has been observed.

As a non-state actor, the influence created by MNCs affected various regions in terms of culture, regulation, social indulgence, technological advancement and many others. During the same period, i.e. the post-Cold War era, globalisation also took a leap forward creating a stronger impulse on the model. By unifying the fact of MNCs’ rising power and the growing impact of globalisation, it is often remarked that MNCs had a strong impact on the globalisation process. . MNCs were the contributor towards the increasing financial strength of a nation and they also brought in foreign revenue which also contributed in increasing financial strength of a country. It is due to the fact that MNCs operate as non-state actors, ignoring the geographical and economical barriers and serving the customers of various nations3. (188 words) Being a non-state actor, MNCs operate in various nations which are identified as either developed or developing economies comprising of unparallel features.

In other words, most of the characteristics possessed by one economy are substantially different from any other economies. Regardless of the divergences, the operations of MNCs have a non-negligible impact on the growth of the economies which is often stated as the impact of globalisation process4. (68 words) The objective of this paper is to critically evaluate the impact of MNCs on the globalisation process as a non-state actor in the modern context. In this regard, the paper will try to critically assess the limit to which MNCs can affect the globalisation process and have an impact on the state level governance of various countries.

Moreover, the paper will concentrate on the negative impact created by MNCs on developing countries for their development in encouraging globalisation process.
