Extract of sample "Sex and Gender Differences in Personal Relationship"

In precedent, men and women possessed different responsibilities in their relationships. However, in the 21stcentury gender has lost most of its influence on the roles that the sexes play within the domestic environments. Therefore, this means considerable alterations have occurred within the domestic environment over the preceding few decades leading to changes in the roles that each gender performs.

This transpires in the wake when women have been progressively fighting to enhance their status in relation to equality. Therefore, the fight towards parity has brought immense influence on the tasks assigned to women and men within the domestic environment. Although the roles have substantially changed within the domestic environment little, it has occurred to some extent thus indicating that gender still has some influence on the way tasks are assigned. In general, the roles had noticeably changed relative to earlier centuries when women used to carry out numerous tasks within and outside the domestic environment.

In the earlier centuries, women were awarded tough roles towards the family mostly their spouses with little to say concerning the actions of their spouses. However, these have changed, and today women can contribute to the affairs of the family through equality that has transpired throughout the globe. All through the period prior to the twentieth century, women had the roles of taking care of their young and carrying out activities such as tending to animals and the farm while men had all they say concerning the utilization of resources obtained through activities that were undertaken by women (Hechavarria, 2005, 1).

In recent times, these have changed, and the affairs within the domestic environment are undertaken collectively by both genders indicating transformation in this area. The transformations have transpired, not just because of equality, but also because of the changing perception of men towards the female gender (Ramos 2011, 1). Gender is deliberated as a societal construction that creates a vivid distinction that occurs as individuals grow thus creating the perceived male and female gender.
