Game of Thrones Short Summary

The book by George R. R. Martin is about a story that takes place in ancient times. Viserys Targaryen intends to take over the power. His strategy is to marry off his sister Daenerys to the nomad chieftain who wields many powers. Meanwhile, the Starks are involved in political mechanizations. Several subplots complicate the story.
Eddard Stark, Winterfell’s Lord, is going home after executing a man. His real sons Robb Brian attended the execution. Jon Snow (illegitimate son) was also there. Robb finds five pups on their way back. Jon takes the 6th pup.
Later King Robert Baratheon visits Winterfell with many people, including wife and children. The others include Ser Jaime Lannister and Tyrion. Eddard is convinced by Robert to become the King’s new Hand. Edward agrees even though he heard rumors that the queen and her family had a hand in the death of Jon Arryn. Eddard leaves his wife to care for their child.
Tyron goes with Jon Snow to watch the wall. They find that Mance Rayder, a man who previously watched over the wall, has risen as the new King beyond the wall. The wall is now guarded by people who are running away from execution.
After Eddard left, it is discovered by Catelyn that Tyrion Lannister wanted to kill Bran. Catelyn and her group capture Tyron and hold him in the Eyrie. Tyron decides to battle for his freedom.
Meanwhile, Alliser Thorne mistreats those who train to do Night’s Watch. Jon defends the trainees and is later become friends with Samwell Tarly and Maester Aemon. After that, Jon serves Jeor Mormont, a move that is aimed at keeping Jon close to power.
Investigations by Eddard reveal many things. The three sons of King Robert were from Jaime. Eddard allows Cersei to escape. Because of that, Eddard is executed. Robb Stark and defeats the Stark when King Robert dies. Renly Baratheon later becomes the King of Westeros. Robb Stark is made the King of the North.
At Pentos, Magister Illyrio plans to marry off Daenerys to Khal Drogo. They fall in love, and Daenerys is impregnated. Drogo later invades Westeros after an assassin from Westerosi nearly kills the pregnant Daenerys. During the invasion, Drogo gets a wound. The infection from this wound causes Drogo’s death. A witch makes Daenerys lose the unborn son. The witch is burnt as a directive from Daenerys.
