 Health policies Introduction Health policies are set and supervised to ensure that they function to protect health issues who are exposed to them. In health, there are several policies that are put in place. Health care policies care for women are set according to changes that occur in Affordable care Act. The policy aims in protecting the health rights of women and children. Reproductive rights are also a policy in health that protects the lives of young children before and after being born. Policies in family leave gives right to one to be enable to be absent from work when in some health conditions. Domestic violence act protects one against one from abuse. Domestic violence is behaviors that one has with the aim of achieving control of other partners. Domestic violence Domestic violence in a society can include several activities that require one to be protected from. Abuse can include physical attacks which can come through sexual relationships that are forced, harassment and verbal abuse with demeaning comments, threats, creating disturbance at ones territory, spying on one and child abuse. When these activities occur in a place, there are actions and policies that can be used to take action for those that perfume the acts. Domestic violence can be controlled in different ways in different types of courts. In criminal courts, the state is able to arraign the abuser(Greer, 2009). Possible crimes that can be handled in these situations includemurder, rape, kidnapping, assault and elder abuse. In civil courts one is able to address the issues that occur due to harassment and money damages. In the court, one can be held responsible for personal injury and sexual harassment. Divorce and family courts are also used to protect from domestic violence. Court Order of Protection is a policy that has been put protects again domestic violence. The policy makes the special need of one that has been abused to be addressed. The policy is able to order the abuser to stay away from the one abused andprevent contact through phone email or mail(Greer, 2009). For the policy to be applied there must be proof that there was intention of violence. Reproductive right These are legal rights that govern reproduction. Reproduction rights include right to birth control, right to safe and legal abortion, freedom of contraception and sterilization and also the right to access reproductive healthcare of good quality.Reproductive rights also give one the opportunity to access education on matters that concerns sex and the infections that occur. Protection from the infections re also included in the rights. Reproduction rights were formed in the aim ofrecognizing the rights of individual and family couples to decide freely on the number, the time and spacing of children that they desire to have. The right also rest on the ability to get information and means to allow the actions. The couples through the reproductive rights are allowed to obtain the highest standards of reproductive and sexual right. Reproductive rights are enforced in different parts of the world regardless of population issues, religion and socioeconomic activities. Family leave policy Family Leave act covers employees that are able to meet certain criteria in their jobs. Those that are covered by the act include employees in the private sectors, public agencies including local state or Federal government agencies and public or private secondary or elementary school workers(Livingston, 2004). Those that are eligible for the act are those that are covered by the employer, worked for the employer for a minimum of twelve months and works at a location that can be covered by the employer. In the act one is entitled to a leave when there are several occurrences. When there is birth, placement, and adoption or foster care of a child, one is entitled to leave. One also has the right to leave when there is need to take care of a child, spouse or a parent who is in a critical health condition(Unger, 2010). When one has serious health condition that can make the person not perform well the function entitled to, one is able toget a leave. In getting a leave; an employee is required to provide essential information needed to the employer(Livingston, 2004). This makes the employer to decide if the employee is entitled to the leave. Health care for women Implementation of Patients Protection and Affordable Care act has provided potential to expand the access of women to healthcare. The reforms that aware made to the act has enabled more impact of the health reform law for women on their access to coverage, scope of benefits, reproductive health, health care affordabilityand long-term careAffordable Care act made reforms that bring about new practices in medicine and care for women and others(Somers & Mahadevan, 2010). In the reforms that were made, the act aims in achieving expansion of coverage of the act, holding insurance companies accountable for health issues, lowering cost of health care, guaranteeing more health choices and enhancing quality of care available to people in a nation.` Summary Domestic violence is a common factor that occurs in the society and can be handled in different ways in different types of courts.Reproduction rights were formed in the aim of recognizing the rights of individual and family couples to decide freely on the number, the time and spacing of children that they desire to have. Recommendations Policies and acts that are formed in health should be followed such that each and every person in the society is protected from harm.
