Gilgamesh portrays a host of qualities ranging from being a hero, loyalty, and perseverance. Despite the sound character he portrays, there are also some flaws which he shows, including displaying self-righteousness, pride, and selfishness. Enkidu also shows multiple good quality traits. The character qualities range from leadership skills, confidence, and omniscience. Some of the significant character traits that take a toll on him include perseverance and constant pride. The pride he has makes him unable to listen to his partner.

The flaw shows in different parts of the book. Perseverance shows when he becomes aware of the futility of his plans in the book but still carries on. The drawback still makes him motivated to the point of praying to Shamash. Loyalty and leadership rank as two of the great qualities shown by Enkidu through the course of the story in the book. The Elders of Uruk realize the leadership potential he possesses. This to the point they advise Gilgamesh to let him guide them through the dense forest.

There are scenarios where his partner takes charge and makes ideas which sometimes are dangerous. The loyalty shown by Enkidu allows him to proceed with supporting the ideas despite the imminent consequences. Fast forward to the current society, the depiction of the two characters will take on new characteristics. Gilgamesh would lose himself in the social media world, where he posts all his accomplishments. The focus on social media would make him deaf to the heeds from his friend. He would be completely glued to his phone and lose focus on other aspects of life.

If Enkidu joined the social media world, he would be the quiet type who rarely posts any aspects of their life. Enkidu’s page will consist of great inspirational quotes. He would be keeping close tabs on his friend. He would have his number on speed dial to call in times of need and advice. According to the characters and qualities of Gilgamesh and Enkidu in the epic of Gilgamesh, there would be risky decisions that Enkidu would be there to clear all the mess.
