Analysis of Hospitality Industry of England: A Special Emphasis on Beachside Motels, Hotels and Restaurants Analysis of Hospitality Industry of England: A Special Emphasis on Beachside Motels, Hotels and Restaurants Introduction The world is getting an idea that developed nations are not so advanced after all as their household incomes and per-capita earnings are consistently dropping and Britain has gotten the worst of the economic jolt which tested the basis of every nation around the world (Holloway & Pimlott-Wilson, 2012). However, America managed to fight it off with the help of generating close ties with China and India and they are currently working in order to fulfil the local consumer demands of the US. The trend of outsourcing has served Americans well in the recent past and they have caused the economies of Bangladesh and Sri Lanka to evolve into better positions (Leavy, 2004). The European Countries have joined their hands in the form of European Union and presently muddling through rough times but the thing that is to their advantage is their ability to stay together. The EU has managed to develop an independent personality from those of its member states and therefore, became more commanding in terms of governing its own futuristic state (Bieler, 2002). The England as a nation refused to flow with the trend of globalisation and attempted to make a stand against it by embracing nationalism at the time when letting go of it would have been a better option regarding saving the economic and fiscal growth of the entire country. The English products are failing as they have to compete against Chinese products which are better and cheaper and therefore, they have managed to cover the international market in an effective fashion (Boisot & Child, 1996). The English products are notorious for being expensive while having a low score on quality. The country’s decision to use educational industry to revive Gross Domestic Product of the local economy is failing because international students are getting more and more aware of the poor quality of education which is currently being provided at the so-called state of the art educational facilities of England. The English society is running out of options via which it can get back on the track of financial independence. In current state of affair, England is alone in the globalized society of nations that is indeed the essence of the 21st century. English culture did not opt to join EU which is trying to steer Europe through semi-permanent recession and the forum is doing well in this regard because of synergetic relations of the member nations. However, England does not have anyone to turn to for help in prevalent and dire set of circumstances and it has to face the consequences of taking a decision of standing in reverse to the tide of globalisation (Koyama, 2010). The current economic conditions of the once proud nation are grim and per-capita incomes are dropping and the national system is plagued with unemployment. The English government is in need of realizing the fact that it has to work in order to save England national identity despite the task’s apparent distastefulness. The nation will join its hands in response to the vision of saving their heritage from cultural takeover. The developing nations which responded favourably towards globalisation have been experiencing Americanization and their own cultural and societal exclusivities are withering away with the passage of time (Barnes & Kaplinsky, 2000). Nevertheless, the English in particular and Europe in general has refused to bow in front of the superpower and they are working in order to safeguard their national cultures. The notion of saving one’s conventional way of life is a noble cause and it is even worth struggling for but again the question arises that England can get through the current situation all by itself and this query is going to be answered by future. There is still hope for the weakened national system and there is always room for optimism in even the worst possible phases of life. Economists are of the view that downing of one economic sector gives an advantage to the other one (Gabszewicz & Thisse, 1979). It is like true implication of a cliché that states that “When one door closes, another opens” but people keep on dwelling upon closure of the first one that they do not realize the opening of the other one. The same thing is happening with the English society. As they look to live in a similar way of life when they were one of the prosperous nations in the world but they simply cannot afford it in the given conditions of the country. England have to be courageous in terms of learning from China which is keeping its currency’s price low objectively in order to keep its exports cheaper in the international market (Casanova, 2001). The same approach can be followed by England with slight modification of its own to the recipe. The nation cannot focus of mass production and that is understandable as there is lack of monetary supply. Additionally, the educational institutions of the country have become notorious for having low quality services and because of this reason; their ability to generate revenue has gotten seriously compromised. As two doors closed one opened and that peculiar one has opened in the field of tourism and hospitality. England is a beautiful country and there is no shred of doubt in this belief. The time has arrived when England used its breathtaking natural sights in order to generate much needed national revenue (Lemos, Fischer, & Souza, 2012). The nation has to follow the plan of Singapore in order to commercialize its tourism industry. The governmental offices have to work hard regarding transformation of beaches and other natural sights into tourist attractions. In this way, the country can focus on services as the rest of the developed and advanced nations are doing. The English society will ultimately enter into the process of making its services industry stable like other European nations (Bieler, 2002). It is important to note that England favoured America in the global military confrontation of World War II against German and Italian alleged violence against economically suppressed factions of local populations. The point being that the United Kingdom stood against European nations in order to support United States and time has passed and now is the time for the English to pay the price of committing a crime against its own people “the Europeans”. Europe is at last considering England as an outlaw state which has no regard for the importance and value of greater issues and its only concern is with safeguarding the English way of life. The experts on international politics were amazed by the English decision of non-joining the EU. The development of euro as a common European currency was in the air at that point in time and therefore, the present war for supremacy in the global arena between euro and dollar was pretty much conceivable as well. In the light of current situation of that period, England’s refusal of joining EU came as a surprise to the rest of the world. The position of pound sterling had gotten weakened as it had to fight with euro and dollar whereas, the overpowered position of Chinese currency made things worse for the English one. The tourism industry is high in demand as professional pressures are keeping on mounting over the shoulders of people all around the world and they love to spend their holidays and vacations on places like the English beaches (Chu & Choi, 2007). The natural environment of the earth was quite cool before rise in temperatures due to industrialization kicked in but still, England remains quite tropical while it rains two hundred days on average in a year in the country. Based on the nature of climate in England, people will love to spend their off-timings in the country. The English economic situation will only improve with expansion of tourism. Conclusion This paper is written in order to highlight the importance and value of tourism industry as a potential saviour for the down-moving economic outlook of the nation. The tourism should be promoted because pound sterling has lost significant level of worth in comparison to dollar and euro and therefore, tourism will be less expensive for Americans and Europeans. All the local government needs to do is to sensibly promote natural sights of the country on an international level. The tourists have to stay somewhere and this need can be fulfilled by promoting beachside hotel and restaurant chains. The tourism industry is evolving throughout the world as disposable incomes of middle class is growing and therefore, they become capable of affording foreign trips every once in a while and England has a chance to attract growing tourist traffic by promoting its natural sights in an appropriate way.
